Building Envelope Inspector

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Building Envelope Inspector to assess and evaluate the integrity of building exteriors, including roofing, walls, doors, windows, air barriers, and waterproofing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, engineering, architecture, or building science and be able to identify potential failures, recommend repairs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough inspections of building envelopes, including roofs, facades, windows, air barriers, and waterproofing systems.
• Identify defects, moisture intrusion, air intrusion, insulation failures, and other issues affecting structural integrity.
• Utilize tools such as infrared thermography, moisture meters, and borescopes, bubble gun, blower door and other non-destructive testing equipment.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, recommendations, and photographic documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, energy efficiency standards, and manufacturer specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and property managers to implement remediation strategies.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to verify the effectiveness of repairs and improvements.

Qualifications
• Education: Degree or certification in Building Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum [2] years of experience in building envelope inspection, construction, or related work.
• Knowledge of building codes, industry best practices, and inspection techniques.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for reporting.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at heights, use ladders, and operate aerial lifts as needed.
• Relevant certifications (such as RRO, RRC, or Level 1  Thermography) are a plus.
